So over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting my favorite movies, top 20, in a countdown format. Starting with 20, naturally. However, first, here are some movies, that just missed the cut. Of being in my top 20, but I still thought I’d mention.
The Host (2006):
Hundreds of bottles of formaldehyde get dumped into the Han River, and as a result, create an amphibious monster which terrorizes Korea. The movie centers around a somewhat ‘dim’ man Park Gang-Du who is on a search to find his young daughter, who was taken by the monster. He and his father-in-law, as well as his sister and brother in-law team up to rescue the little girl from the monster, while also battling the intervening military. Great movie, very good visual effects with the monster, easy to watch.
Forrest Gump (1994)
Not much needs to be said about why this one nearly made my list. Forrest Gump is one of those movies that you can watch over and over again and still get excited with each part of Forrest Gump’s story. I quote this movie constantly and it’s an easy movie to turn on when you want to just turn your mind off and follow along.
40 Year-Old Virgin (2005)
40YOV was really the first of the Judd Apatow movies that set off the string of Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd etc movies that we all know and love. I still laugh to tears at certain parts when I see this movie, and I think it’s Apatow’s funniest. Great movie, great cast.
